Day 59 of 90 college again

I have been wanting to work closer to home and go to college for a while now. I've been sending this message out to the universe and the universe has replied. Not only in my getting a job closer to home, but I will be making more money, saving gas and the Company pays for college. Not a lot, $5400 a year. But still, they are helping me with college :-)

My plans are to cash out my 401(k) and go full-time summer and fall semester. Winter will be paid by this company I am working for now.

I will not quit bass pro shop, I will be a pace employee. That is a part time without a schedule employee. I will work events or when people called in sick. No set schedule, I will call if I am available and they will call to ask if I am available. I can keep my discount and benefits. I think I only have to work one day a month to keep the status.

Looks like my CPAP came off at 11:30 last night. I am not sure why but I need to find out because I can really tell I do not sleep well without it. I don't remember because I am sleeping.

Day 58 of 90 eating normal

Last night, I ate Chinese takeout.

Unfortunately, this morning I realize that: if I eat normal with my friends and family, I will have their normal issues.

Why have I not realize this yet?  Abdominal pain, bloating, indigestion, acid reflux… These are all normal symptoms of eating "normal".

Last night I do cited to eat some Chinese takeout. Chicken fried rice. I have eaten this 1 million times before and have enjoyed it immensely.  Matter of fact, we have anticipated Chinese night for a couple of days now.  I was extremely excited when my wife came home with the take out.

I need just a small portion of what I usually eat and watch some TV before going to bed.

I felt like I slept like a champ, however, this morning I feel like I have a cement break in my stomach and the bloating is unbelievable.

My joints hurt and I have a general feeling of being unwell.

How is this possible by eating one of my favorite foods?

I guess I have to reevaluate my normal eating.

Wow.  Over $36 so far this year!

Day 57 of 90 feeling well

If you do not have energy, you cannot work out. If you do not feel well you definitely do not want to work out. This is what I've been going through for a while now.

So have I failed over the last 57 days? That has been my question. But I realize, I have a better understanding of how to eat healthy and be well.

I definitely need more education. And the more I think about it, the more sense it makes to cash out my 401(k) and go back to college to get a degree in exercise science as my major is business as a minor.

It seems like every day there is something new to try in the health and fitness arena, but what really seems to work in the long run? A wide variety of food, organic food seems to be the best. Exercise that is fine as in biking, swimming, hiking, canoeing etc. Going to the gym usually is not the most fun thing to do.

The day I stop learning is the day I die. I need to stop being a guinea pig though, I need to do what works and finding a way to enhance things that already have a proven track record.

This is my last seven days worth of steps. This is ridiculously low. I can tell that I have been under the weather. Time to "step" it up!

Day 56 of 90 balance diet is important

I am feeling so much better today than I have a long time.

With almost 11 hours of sleep and being a bright and sunshiny day, I am ready to get things accomplished.

I recently realized how important a balanced diet really truly is.  Balance is the key but when you define balance it can be difficult.

My goal for March is to eat balanced meals. Every meal I have in the month of March will be different. Now that will be difficult.

I also do not think that exercise is as important as we think. I believe stretching may be more important. Like yoga etc.

So I am a little soft in the abs… These next 30 days will totally kick ass

Day 55 of 90 - down 15 pounds

Things that cause constipation and fecal impaction:
My asthma medication

Chocolate

Painkillers example codeine

Vitamins including iron supplements

Too much dairy

Depression

Low carbohydrate diet/not enough green vegetables

Well, there you have it… All the reasons why I got sick.  And yes, chocolate. I was trying to incorporate dark chocolate into my diet because of the healthy benefits. Unfortunately, it can cause some issues and some people.

So what am I going to do about this? I am on antibiotics because of infection I got in my bowels because of the blockage.

I now have to restore good gut Flora with probiotics.

I need to incorporate 85% green leafy vegetables in my diet.

I am stopping my pain medication.

I need to eat for health and not for fun.

I am still trying to get eight hours of sleep per night but find it extremely difficult.

This week I am going to be very lite. I need to fix my intestinal tract.

Lots of yogurt, fermented foods and vegetables smoothies.

I am also starting a regimen of shakeology  cleanse.

Day 54 of 90 impaction

I believe I understand what has happened to me. While I was on the low carbohydrate diet, I was constipated. That turned into a fecal impaction. Everything started backing up over this last month and it was starting to rot inside my body.

The antibiotics are killing off all the bacteria in my body which in turn is making me feel better. However, it's also killing off all my good good Flora.

For the next seven days, I will have to eat lots of green vegetables, yogurt and fermented foods.

I have taken laxatives and I am down to 215 pounds from almost 230. Gross.

I will really have to watch my diet because I do not want to feel this way again.

IAM sleeping better but as you can see from the picture above, at about 5:30 AM, my CPAP mask came off. Even though I was sleeping, I was restless.

Day 53 of 90 Saturday

I woke up feeling quite bloated and feeling sick. No hunger but did my veggie pact none the less.

I ate two apples and feel like I ate at a Buffett. Honestly, I wish I could feel this way at every meal so I don't over eat.

I am now heading to work and the only thing I brought to eat was a couple of bananas and some apples.

Maybe I should have stayed home today and rested…

After being at work for just an hour… People are telling me I look very pale and white like I am very sick. I am feeling warm and my abdomen hurts. So I am heading home to go to bed.

Until tomorrow's blog…

Day 52 of 90 - trying to find energy

I slept well last night, however I do not believe I slept long enough.

It sure is difficult for me to find energy.

My blood work came back all normal.

However, I still feel extremely tired. I am eating well balanced meals and eating plenty throughout the day. I have included avocados, mixed nuts and a variety of fruits and vegetables

Day 51 of 90 - Bloodwork follow up

This morning I am at the doctors again for my blood work follow up.

Seems like about 3:30 AM, my CPAP came off. I had no idea that I was tossing and turning and was awake for so long.

I am back down to 218 pounds by just eating "normal" not stupid

I was a little extra active yesterday also.

I believe having a podcast will keep me on track and allow others the ability to have some accountability.

So the doctor said that all of my blood work came back normal. I got some more blood drawn and we are going to check for low testosterone

Day 50 of 90 - 40 days left

With only 40 more days, I really need to get my act in gear.

Tomorrow I see the doctor again… Let's find out why I am so exhausted all the time.

It sure looks like I am sleeping better with the CPAP.

Liver, sauerkraut, cheddar cheese omelette was extremely delicious today.

Considering I was 208 last month, this is not an exciting accomplishment.

This sure goes to show that a two-week injury and feeling exhausted can truly cause a weight gain.

Day 49 of 90

Slept like a baby!

This app detects the movement of the bed at night and determines if  sleeping well or not. But it also may detect my wife moving around too.

I'm feeling more rested.

Lunch was good but looked awful.

Lasagna and garlic bread… Excellent dinner :-)

Day 48 of 90 restart

It happens to everyone. You are on track and then one day you realize you are not. What happened?

It could be a number of things, but I bet you anything, when you restrict your calories, you are going to be more tired than usual. How can you work out if you are tired?

That is what happened to me.

Doctor Thursday to see why I'm so wasted all the time.

I am still trying to get a podcast going.

Day 47 of 90 happy Sunday!!

In the AV room at church today.

Ate liver for breakfast yum.

Enjoyed a nice walk.

Going to watch a movie:

My weight goes in waves.

I think I have my energy back. Time to make each day count!

Day 46 of 90

Yesterday I went to the doctor and found out I have arthritis in both of my feet and degenerative joint damage that caused bone spurs. The doctor gave me A steroid shot and it hurts worse now than it did before.

This may cause some issues with my American ninja warrior training.

Not so much of the running part, just the sheer pain that my foot is giving me.

I can have it removed but I will be off my feet for eight weeks.

Do I try out for the American ninja warrior? Or do I seek treatment to fix my feet?

For the last two weeks, I have been diving into comfort food. I have not been going to the gym either. No running.

I most likely will not make it to the gym today either. Between UNI, looks like I might take on a second full-time job. I really would like some extra money.

I have a birthday party to go to tonight. Grandma is 90 years old.

Day 45 of 90 Arthritis caused a bone spur

Foot doctor day.

This morning I am going to go see a specialist.

Since I started using my CPAP, I have definitely been sleeping better.

I definitely could have slept longer today.

Today is Valentine's Day and I got my wife a few things.

Tonight we go see the ventriloquist, Jeff Dunham.

Arthritis caused a bone spur.  Ain't that a bitch!

Watched Jeff Dunham in little rock tonight.  Excellent Valentine's Day!

Day 44 of 90 sleep apnea

I have sleep apnea and I am wearing a CPAP at night.

This may be the reason I am so exhausted during the day. I cannot breathe at night. You can tell from the graph that I am definitely sleeping better.

Maybe my weight gain is because I am exhausted and I am eating because I am just so tired.

I am now 44 days into my New Year's resolution. This may be the key to keep me moving in the right direction.

Day 43 of 90 Doctor day

Today I get to see what's wrong with me.

I will see a Specialist Friday morning. They drew blood to see if I have diabetes or if I am anemic.

Day 42 of 90 super sleep

Sure is nice to get a lot of sleep :-)

Today I feel amazing!

At 218 pounds, I am feeling strong and happy :-) the scale says I have 25% body fat

Tomorrow I see the doctor about feeling tired and this thing on my foot.

I have had a lot of friends on my Facebook give me their opinion of what it is. It will be interesting to see what the doctor says.

I want to find out why I am so tired! If I do not have energy, I cannot work out. If I cannot work out, I cannot gain muscle and lose body fat.

February 14 is the deadline to turn in my application and submission video for the American ninja warrior.

Because I am so tired, I almost do not want to do this. This is strange as I have been training for a year to be able to get on to the show. I truly do not know what is wrong with me.

Healthy lunch

Day 41 of 90 what happened?

I am not sure what happened over the last week or so… Being so incredibly tired and lethargic… I ended up doing more TV watching and over eating than I planned. What happened?

I have an alarm to remind me to go to bed at 7:30 PM… However, it is difficult with my family stays up until 10:00 PM… I feel like I am missing out.

I also realize, between 7:30 PM and 10 PM, I tend to eat a lot of comfort food.

What ever this growth on my foot is, it makes it extremely difficult to walk or run. I want to sit because it hurts so bad.

I need my submission video done by Valentine's Day, or I will not be able to get on the American ninja warrior. Right now, I am so tired and my brain is foggy. Very difficult to concentrate. I almost feel like I do not want to continue this journey.

Things I have to overcome:

Mitral valve prolapse

Asthma

Sleep apnea

Habitual overeater

Painful growth on my foot

Lethargy

Major stress

Lack of money

Ocular migraines

I am glad I am going to CA doctor this Wednesday. A full blood workup is definitely in order.

I need to remember to get more sleep. Actually, I always remember because of my 7:30 PM alarm. I tend to choose to stay up. I need to overcome this.

So, what am I going to do to make my dreams come true? Will I overcome these issues? Well I learned to live with my issues and just exist?

I am ready to do this! I am excited to be healthy and fit :-)

Very enjoyable lunch

Did my gympact today and watching tv tonight and bed soon. Gn
